What do private events include?
When booking a private event with us, you receive exclusive access to a private Afternoon Tea. Your event includes our special Afternoon Tea with two hot and two cold luxury-grade teas from our tea emporium, traditional tea sandwiches, sweet and savory scones (with curds and clotted cream), a selection of sweets, a hot item, and an amuse-bouche finish.
We are happy to select or recommend teas to suit your taste as you pre-select the teas for the special day. Stop by weekdays after 2pm to discuss the options. (Snifters are available to smell each of our teas and we sell tea-to-go if you would like to sample them beyond the samples we have available in the shop.) Tea selections should be decided at least two weeks prior to event to ensure adequate time to order tea, if needed.
Can I bring in my own food?
Unfortunately, we do not currently allow for outside food to be brought in for private events.
When are private events held?
Private party tea time is 11am on Saturday and is two hours. Our tea room has elegant decor and we provide designer florals in the tea room. We also have a “GIFTS” sign to help designate an area for your guests to place gifts for opening – we do all the prep work. However, if you need a few minutes before guests arrive, private event access is available starting at 10:30am. To prepare for our Afternoon Tea Time, staff must begin clearing tables no later than 1:15pm.
How much is it to book a private event?
Private Afternoon Tea events are $35 per person with a $500 minimum not including tips, taxes, or any applicable merchant fees (20% gratuity required for all private parties.).
To secure your date, we require a deposit of the minimum fee and gratuity. Deposit is applied to total.
FINAL count and payment of remaining balance (based upon count) due seven (7) days prior to event.
What happens if I have to cancel my event?
If an emergency occurs that requires a reschedule of your private event, we will work with you to reschedule the event for an alternate date within 60 days of the original event. For cancellations made more than 14 days of the original event date, 100% of the deposit can be applied to a rescheduled date. For cancellations made 10-14 days prior to the event, 50% of the deposit will be refunded. For cancellations made within 10 days of events, no refund will be made.
